Public Skate Sessions
Friday Night - Skate Night
Almost every Friday night during the year, on occasion there may be an event impacting Friday. When this occurs, please check our FaceBook (Skate Sport Taranaki) where a notification will show advising of a postponement or cancellation.
(Our club members may take a short break from hosting over Christmas and New Year.)
SESSION 1:
for skaters 12 and under accompanied by a responsible adult.
5:45pm to 7pm.
SESSION 2:
for skaters 13 and older, family groups or individuals.
7:15pm to 8:30pm.
Entry is $10 per skater, skates are loaned out if required and the rink is cleared at 7pm in preparation for next session. There is a discount available for groups of 5 or more paying together. Ask at desk. Discount only available if the "group" comes in together with an adult and payment is preferred by EFTPOS.
Private / Organisation Functions
The venue is available for private group hire, preferably during school hours. You can email to check availability (skatesport.taranaki@gmail.com)
Want to hire a large open space indoors?
We have two large indoor areas, one 50 x 25 metres plus seating, bathrooms and walkways and another area 18 x 28 metres with a mezzanine floor providing viewing over both areas.
The venue is specifically designed for indoor sport, however it can be made available (with enough notice) for shows or displays. We do accept bookings for shows and displays on occasion. This will be dependant on timing and purpose.
Note: There are requirements in place for ensuring the skating surfaces are not damaged and event organisers are responsible for cleaning all surfaces on departure. This may entail commercial scrubbing at the organisers cost.
Please also note that skating activity takes priority.
Birthday Parties / Group Bookings
Celebrate a birthday with a group of friends on skates . Bring your own skates or loan club skates. Birthday groups are encouraged to attend Friday sessions as there are time constraints on other days.
Cost: $10/skater (discount for groups over 5 available) We are unable to offer a 'party' room, however you are welcome to bring in your own cake etc.
Email skatesport.taranaki@gmail.com to check availability, generally there is no need to make a booking for Friday night.
